General Motors' Allison Transmission is releasing several new ReTran® bus model transmissions in February 2004. Each bus ReTran® group offers a variety of transmission options including output retarder or standard rear cover, TID1, TID2 (B400R) only, or TID3 internal wiring harness, retarder model sump cooling provision, PTO or Non-PTO provision and two-inch or four-inch sump. "One significant aspect of the ReTran® assembly introduction is that all of them are updated to the current hardware specifications," said Brian Cook, aftermarket programs manager, "Further, our bus model ReTran® portfolio is specifically designed to match the most current and previous transmission configurations." An excellent example of this is Allison equipping all units with Dynax clutch friction plates as well as all other part updates contained in the master overhaul kits. Many of the ReTran® assemblies are intended for use with WTEC II control systems and others with WTEC III control systems. The benefits and features include: - Expedited repairs
- Remanufactured units to Allison Transmission quality standards and factory tested with TranSynd oil
- International warranty coverage
- Availability at Allison distributors throughout North America
- Consistent, predictable repair costs
